Most problems clear up with the steps below. If yours does not, the contact address is at the end of this page.

DashDegu is developed and published by Lubomír Baloun under the name JohnnySee.

Basic Troubleshooting

If the app does not start or behaves unexpectedly, try the following:

  • Close the app completely and open it again.
  • Restart your device.
  • Make sure you are using the latest available version of the app.
  • Check that your device has enough free storage space.

Weather Widget

The weather needs an internet connection. If the widget shows no weather:

  • Check that the device is online.
  • Open the dashboard’s settings and make sure it has a location set. The weather widget shows the weather for the dashboard’s location.
  • Wait a moment — the weather refreshes regularly, and a dashboard that was just opened may need a few seconds.

Calendar Widgets

The calendar widgets need permission to read the calendars on your device. If the widget stays empty or asks for access:

  • Allow calendar access from the calendar widget, or turn it on in Android Settings → Apps → DashDegu → Permissions.
  • Make sure the calendar you want is synced to the device, for example in the Google Calendar app.

Keeping the Screen On

DashDegu can keep the screen awake while a dashboard is showing; you will find the option in the app’s settings. Some devices still turn the screen off to save battery. If that happens, check the device’s battery saver and display timeout settings.

To show a dashboard while the device is charging, set DashDegu as the screensaver in Android Settings → Display → Screen saver, then choose which dashboard it shows in DashDegu’s settings. The exact menu names differ between devices.

PRO Purchase

PRO is a one-time purchase through Google Play and stays yours on every device signed in to the same Google account.

  • PRO is not unlocked after buying: wait a moment and reopen the app. Some payment methods take a few minutes to confirm; PRO unlocks by itself once they do.
  • New device or reinstalled app: open Settings → DashDegu PRO and tap Restore purchase. Make sure Google Play on the device uses the account you bought PRO with.
  • Refunds: purchases are handled by Google Play. See Google Play’s refund help for how to request one.

Dashboards and Local Data

Dashboards are stored only on your device. There is no account, so they cannot be synced between devices. Android’s own backup may restore them when you set up a new device, depending on your backup settings. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes your dashboards permanently.

Reporting a Problem

When contacting support, include as much of the following information as possible:

  • Your device model and Android version.
  • The version of DashDegu you are using.
  • A short description of what happened and how to reproduce it.
  • A screenshot or screen recording, if it helps explain the issue.

Privacy

For information about how the app handles data, see the DashDegu Privacy Policy.
